Indexed Weapon Systems
Last updated November 29, 2021
CFPI incorporates more than 1,500 nomenclatures corresponding to 25 major conventional weapon roles. Because the tables are designed to enable users to apply CFPI scoring to state arsenals (or arsenal segments) on their own, most systems are reflected in multiple nomenclature entries; for example, both “F-35I” and “Adir” appear in the “Multirole Fighters” table. This is to circumvent common identification issues and prioritize calculating an accurate index score.
Indexed nomenclatures with corresponding tiers (0 through 4 in increasing order of technological sophistication) are available for download as a Microsoft Excel-formatted Workbook. Once downloaded, use the tabs at the bottom of the workbook to navigate between sheets corresponding to each of the 25 system types to see tier-sortable lists of currently indexed nomenclatures. Refer to the paper for a detailed explanation of role and tier weighting.
